The three-phase program is comprehensive and based upon best, research-based practices for Sustainable Change. In order for sustainable change to occur, we must address all five key ingredients (or elements) including vision, skill building, incentives, resources, and a plan to get there. |

The Capstone Practicum is an onsite hands-on experience where participants spend 90 minutes on each of the following areas, reviewing and discussing the critical learning components within the Common Core Standards and then actively engage in hands-on activity that demonstrates proficiency in College & Career Ready Instruction:

• Impact on Classroom Assessment
Artifacts from the Practicum include participant-created Power Point presentations which form the basis of the Black Belt School Portfolio. A Learning Survey is completed after the Capstone Practicum for each individual.
An Enacted Curriculum Report is prepared based on the completed Capstone Learning Survey. The Enacted Curriculum Report maps reported skills and observed instructional behaviors with the requirements of the Common Core Standards and the National Science Foundation – funded Surveys of Enacted Curriculum Project led by the authors of the Common Core – the Council of Chief State School Officers.
An Implementation Progress & Planning Report is provided as part of the Capstone Practicum, with a consultation to review the data and determine best next steps. |
